Cara Wassenberg

Cara Wassenberg is a sculptor with 25 years' experience of working in steel and copper and more recently glass . She trained, and has taught at University of the Creative Arts, Farnham . She has a workshop near Petersfield where she makes sculpture both for galleries and to commission.

How would you describe your approach to teaching?

Every student comes with different expectations and levels of experience. I enjoy helping them fulfil their potential using the materials and creative techniques available in the workshop.

What inspires your own work?

I am particularly inspired by the unusual beauty that I see in 'found' weathered and time-worn objects  (particularly in agricultural debris and rural paraphernalia), but also the craft process which continually leads to new discoveries.
