About this course
Photoshop is an industry-standard image-editing program used by designers to add colour, texture and detail to visual materials and presentation. This course is aimed at design students and professionals, and examples and course materials will relate to interior design practice, but could be applied to other disciplines.
Course Description
The course will introduce you to the introductory skills needed to begin working with Photoshop. Strong emphasis is placed on best practices, and approaches are derived from experience and working solutions. During the course you will cover:

- Document Set Up – Image Setup Dialogue Box
- Understanding the differences between: Canvas size; Image Size and Resolution in Pixels/mm; File size
- Workspaces
- Create, Open and Import Images
- Layer Management and Manipulation
- Selection Tools and Techniques
- Most Commonly Used Transform Tools
- Image Colour Adjustments
- Layer Masks
- Clone Stamp
- Content Aware Fill
- Save Photoshop Files and Save as JPEGs

Course teaching 10am–4.15pm
Students arrive 9.30am-10.00am (coffee optional)
Morning teaching 10am-1pm
Lunch break 1pm-2pm (lunch is not included)
Afternoon teaching 2pm–4.15pm (15 minute break)
Teaching finishes 4.15pm
General Information
Short courses are open to anyone aged 18 and over. The course fee covers tuition and materials where stated. You will need to bring all other items listed under the Materials to bring section.
Refreshments
Coffee and tea are included in the course fee, but you will need to bring lunch with you to eat in the refreshments room. There are also plenty of other local venues to purchase food.

There is a small lift to higher floors or stairs.
Safety
