About this course

Encounter the beautiful art of Mokuhanga.

Course Description

This course is a short introduction to the beautiful art of Japanese water-based woodblock printing, also known as Mokuhanga. You will start by playing with pre-carved blocks in order to understand the principles of the printing technique. You will then progress to learning about all the different knives and how to use and sharpen them. Then you will be invited to design, carve and print your own multi-block colour design, using traditional wood, paper and printing tools.
