Leadership Update: Francine Norris to depart West Dean
We would like to share that Francine Norris, Principal and Deputy Chief Executive, will be leaving West Dean towards the end of April as she looks ahead to the next chapter in her career.
Francine has played a central role in the development of West Dean over the years, bringing a wealth of experience in higher education and an unwavering passion for the arts and design. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the College’s direction and success.
During her time here, Francine has overseen the work of the College, including the Schools of Arts, Conservation, and Design, as well as academic programmes, short courses, student support, research, and our library and collections. Her contributions have left a lasting impact on both staff and students, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication and vision.
Following Francine’s departure, Professor Anna Gough-Yates, currently Chief Executive, will assume the combined role of Chief Executive and Principal. West Dean is also in the process of appointing a new Vice-Principal to support the continued academic leadership of the College.
We thank Francine for her outstanding service and wish her every success as she embarks on new professional adventures.
