Student work included in exhibition at Matt Black Barn
Work from the 2023 International Design Workshop at West Dean was recently included in an exhibition at Matt Black Barn in West Sussex.
Over the bank holiday weekend, the studio gallery of artists Laura Ford and Andrew Sabin showcased a number of works from their community and education programme, including work from students at KLC School of Design and the Technical University of Valencia, Spain. The works were developed as part of the International Design Workshop which invited the students to work in teams to propose ideas for transforming a former Goods Shed on the West Dean Estate into a studio, performance venue, or exhibition space.
During the workshop, students and staff visited Matt Black Barn to learn about how artists use their studios, and how former industrial sites can be transformed into a centre of culture.
