Conservation Studies students have made exciting discoveries while working on previously uncatalogued material found in West Dean’s gardens and workshops. Their discoveries have revealed new information about the history of West Dean and its gardens, and its development over the last 50 years as West Dean College of Arts and Conservation.
West Dean College of Arts and Conservation Graduate Diploma in Conservation Studies student Emmanuelle was given the opportunity to conserve the prestigious Kings’ Clock in time for the re-opening of The Courtauld Gallery on Friday, November 19, 2021.

As it’s getting close to Christmas, Rose Zhou, who is studying at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation, for an MA in Conservation Studies (specialising in Ceramics & Related Materials) knew there was a sense of urgency to finish working on a pair of ceramic elves, so they could be reunited with their owner for the festive season.
