Describe your approach to teaching
My approach to teaching a fine arts course is that they should allow for the analysis and appraisal of visual information and therefore become a great medium for diversity and inclusion. I believe that students should learn how to make relationships and meanings to the information they are exposed to, which allows students to develop their own voices.
What inspires your own work?
Demonstrating proficiency in and sensitivity to material choices, methods, techniques, technologies, and tools within both contemporary painting and drawing, I have researched thematics explored through inclusive perspectives. Working within the intersection of painting, drawing, art writing, and video art I raise questions about cultural heritage & cultural genocide, suppressed histories, collective forgetfulness, and identity in the form of muted/mutated witness and reconciliation & repossession as opposed to dispossession.
