Stephen Smith
Stephen has tutored in horticulture for over 25 years, and has
nearly 40 years experience of practical gardening under his belt.
He began as an apprentice gardener and started his teaching career
at Capel Manor. For 10 years he was Landscape Manager at the
Grosvenor Estate in London.
My approach to teaching.
My teaching style is informal and I link theory with practical
demonstration wherever I can. Courses are designed to suit new
gardeners as well as those with some experience.
What inspires your own work?
In gardening there's always more to learn, watching the penny drop
when teaching is rewarding and the gardens at West Dean are an
inspirational place to work.
