Sonia King
Sonia's award-winning mosaic art is exhibited internationally
and represented in private, public and museum collections.
Depthfinder is the first mosaic by an American in the permanent
collection of contemporary mosaic art at the Museo d'Arte di
Ravenna, Italy. Sonia teaches advanced workshops around the world
and wrote the bestselling book "Mosaic Techniques &
Traditions".
Describe your approach to teaching:
My goal is to offer skills and knowledge that will benefit students
for years. I hope to impart an elevated sense of mosaic plus both
practical and artistic insights, enabling participants to push
their work to the next level.
What inspires your own work?
My design process is completely intuitive, integrating technique
and vision. I am driven by the desire to work with a huge variety
of tesserae, creating new worlds piece by piece.
