Sarah Campbell
Sarah Campbell co-founded the renowned textile design company Collier Campbell; she has always worked as a painter of patterns. Now practising under her own name she makes design for clients from the high street to one-off commissions; she gives talks, workshops, teaches, writes a blog. Her starting point remains the hand-made mark.
Describe your approach to teaching:
I have a direct and informal approach to teaching. I believe that observation underpins spontaneity; by articulating this I think we discover that we understand far more than we realised!
What inspires your own work?
I am influenced by what I see in the world around me, by all sorts of artists and designers, and by the need to earn a living!
