Ruth Martin
Ruth is a book artist, printmaker and illustrator trained at the University of Brighton in MA Sequential Illustration. She has taught at numerous universities on BA and MA programmes. Her work has been sold at Liberty, Selfridges, Paul Smith, Conran, the V&A and is held in the collection of Tate Britain.
Describe your approach to teaching
Sharing the joy of making rubber stamps and books in a fun and nurturing environment is my aim…but I cannot be held responsible for the addictive nature of making rubber stamps!
What inspires your own work?
I like to poke a little fun and hopefully raise a smile. Wordplay and puns are the source of much of my inspiration, alongside workaday items and everyday conversation.
