Employment as a conservator in the specialist field of historic mirror conservation and within national institutions and the private sector helped to develop an understanding of the practice of conservation and the profession in different contexts. A role as an Intern Advisor for the Institute of Conservation (ICON) has enabled her to continue her interest in learning and teaching and supporting students and new entrants to the profession across multiple disciplines.
"As an accredited conservator I adhere to the guiding principles of the profession and various roles that include workshop practice with students and mentoring interns allows me to continue to enjoy the holistic nature of the role of a conservator.”
Lorna is an accredited member of Icon, member of ICOM and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
