Laura Snowden
Described by Acoustic Guitar Magazine as possessing ‘multi-dimensional gifts, imagination and fearless artistic sensibility’, Laura’s eclectic musical output has ranged from playing guitar solos on Lorne Balfe's soundtrack for Marvel film Black Widow to performing Lisa Streich’s guitar concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Laura studied with Julian Bream, during which time she gave two concerts at Wigmore Hall featuring premieres of his newest commissions. This led to international recognition and festival debuts across Europe and the US, as well as a concerto recording with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. She has since gone on to forge her own creative and authentic path as a guitarist, composer and vocalist.
Laura’s compositions and arrangements have been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and recorded for labels including Decca, Delphian, Rubicon and Deux-Elles. Her music has been commissioned by Birmingham Symphony Hall, International Guitar Foundation, New York Guitar Festival, and by syllabuses including RSL (Rockschool), LCME and ABRSM. As a songwriter and performer with folk group Tir Eolas, her shows with the band have included Cambridge Folk Festival, Bestival, and Shakespeare’s Globe at the invitation of guitarist John Williams.
Laura has given classes at the Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Birmingham Conservatoire, Yale University, the Purcell School, Brussels Conservatoire, Mannes School of Music and Manhattan School of Music. She studied at the Royal College of Music and is a D’Addario Artist.
