Katrina Beattie
Katrina Beattie graduated from University for Creative Arts in Farnham in 1995. She currently runs a studio in Somerset specializing in Blown, Lamp & Kiln Formed glass and has been teaching since 2002. Is a member of The Sussex Guild of Craftsmen, The Contemporary Glass Society and Glass Beadmakers UK
Describe your approach to teaching:
My hands on teaching style embraces well-paced demonstration, followed by supportive skill building otherwise known as 'demo & do' Experimentation will follow exploring samples and your own designs.
What inspires your own work?
With skills across glass disciplines I enjoy bridging gaps between techniques. Inspiration comes from the desire to create intrigue to the viewer who wonders with curiosity, how it was made.
