Jilly Morris

Jilly Morris is a multi-disciplinary artist; she completed her master's degree in Bristol in 2006. Jilly's work crosses many fields including drawing, sculpture, enamel, and installation. She has exhibited widely throughout the UK. Jilly's creative practice is often influenced by awarded artist residency programmes such as VARC and the Observatory.

Describe your approach to teaching:

I teach using friendly and playful exercises that encourage students to explore tools and processes. I give demonstrations of techniques, and then encourage students to experiment.

What inspires your own work?

I like to respond to different environments, especially through artist residencies. I investigate dialogues between materials and processes. Landscape, surfaces (with a narrative) and memories are vital to my practice.
