Janet Clare
Janet Clare is a textile designer, author, quilter, teacher and
all round creative thinker. Author of four books and designer of
four fabric collections for Moda, she loves to combine appliqué and
free motion drawing in her work and regularly hosts talks and
workshops on design process and creative techniques.
Describe your approach to teaching:
Being creative is a real joy and I feel that learning a new skill
should be too. So I like to teach by encouraging, demonstrating and
hopefully, inspiring.
What inspires your own work?
A lot of my work is inspired by nature. I also take delight in
words, lovely phrases and children's purity of thought and the joy
they find in the mundane.
