Armi Maddison

Following a degree in Fine Art Sculpture at Kingston, Armi gained a PGCE at Reading University and has taught art and design for over 25 years. Currently prioritising her own work, predominantly in print and mixed media textiles, Armi has shown her work at various open studio events and exhibitions over the years and is delighted to be selling her work at the beautiful homeware store at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond.

My approach to teaching
My approach is to inform, showing examples and possibilities in a structured introduction, and then to facilitate and encourage students to reach their full potential in an easy-going, friendly and inclusive way.

My work is predominantly concerned with elevating the ordinary, observing and enjoying the minutiae, bringing into focus and raising its importance in an ever-increasing digital world and presenting it in a way that has a poetic
