Alice Butcher
With a background in theatre costume & education, Ginny is
an experienced sewing tutor. She co-ran a handmade textile business
for 7 years and has co-authored three sewing project books with FW
Media. She enjoys facilitating in others creative journeys.
Describe your approach to teaching?
My classes are relaxed and friendly, focusing on gently supporting
students in learning good basic sewing skills whilst developing
their confidence and independence.
What inspires your own work?
I am inspired by nature, necessity and reuse. I create 'useful'
textiles, such as vegetable sacks and clothing. I also love
up-cycling fabric scraps to make gifts.
