About this course

Drawing inspiration from mid-century fabrics and designs, you will create a captivating textile collage that seamlessly blends geometric and organic shapes. You will explore various techniques, including appliqué, embellishment and embroidery, to enhance your designs and bring them to life.

Course Description

Mid-century fabrics and design serve as a rich source of inspiration for creating a textile collage. The workshop will begin with an exploration of examples from the tutor’s collection, allowing you to make preliminary studies that inform your design choices.

You will use a combination of printing, applique, and stitching techniques to create a distinctive wall hanging inspired by modernist aesthetics. Most of the piece will be crafted during the class, and you will have the opportunity to continue adding to it afterward, ensuring your wall hanging evolves even beyond the workshop setting.
