About this course

This course is suitable for all writers interested in finding ways to engage readers in the sensory world of their prose.

Course Description

This one-day course is suitable for writers who are already immersed in a writing project and for those starting something fresh.

We will use exercises to stimulate the imagination and encourage the unconscious mind to find creative ways with which to bring scenes and characters to life on the page. We will explore a range of published works and physical objects, too, to better learn how we can write embodied prose that will really immerse our readers in each moment of our stories. There will be opportunities to share your writing and get feedback from your tutor and your fellow writers.

By the end of this day long course, you will have an understanding of the techniques required to make your life writing, biography and autobiography projects as compelling to read as the most page turning fiction.
