About this course

This course will introduce you to the 'first principles' of drawing from direct observation.

Course Description

During this course you will be introduced to strategies used by artists to look more effectively, and heighten your awareness of surprising issues of perception of size, shape and tone that make representational drawing so particularly challenging and interesting.

With structured exercises, you will explore various elements of drawing, including observation of the fall of light on objects and space, and the use of line and measurement to better observe scale, proportion and perspective.

This course is suitable for beginners, and as a refresher course if you are a more experienced artist to sharpen your practice.
