This workshop will encompass a practical engagement with your tutor's approach to movement/the body in relationship to materials and making of performance work, sculpture and mark-making.
You will explore working between mediums of movement (from a somatic dance approach), writing and drawing - how the different encounters feed into each other.
No dance movement experience is needed, no visual arts experience needed either.
On this course the College will supply most of the materials including some cartridge paper and masking tape per student plus a large roll of Fabriano paper, oil pastels, charcoal and some watercolour paint to share amongst the group.
Please bring a selection of brushes and any other materials you wish to bring along such as basic drawing materials and water-based paints. Loose clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and feel free to move about in.
Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).
