About this course

An introduction to observational drawing that takes you on a tour of some of the city's most interesting architectural sites and art institutions.

Course Description

This one-day introduction to observational drawing course takes you on a tour of some of the city’s most interesting architectural sites and arts institutions, which will include The Barbican, Whitechapel Gallery and The British Museum. As you travel from site to site, you will respond to each location through observational drawing exercises which cover perspective, vocabularies of mark-making, frottage and reflections. By the end of the day, you will have a good introductory grasp of key skills which will enable you to creatively respond to the city through observational drawing.

Please meet at West Dean London, 1 Malet Street and we will return there for a review at the end of the day.

A second sketching in the city course is also available with your tutor offering a different tour.
