About this course

This course will enable you to gain confidence and to experience different drawing techniques using the human figure as inspiration. This course forms part of a series of two one-day courses that can be taken as a pair or individually.

Course Description

During this course, you will look at various drawing methods suitable for describing tone, form and volume of the figure in space.

During the course, you will work though several exercises exploring tone to describe chiaroscuro - light and shade, and to define form, volume, shape and the weight of each pose. You will achieve a greater understanding of human anatomy and proportion using measurement techniques, while drawing directly from the nude, several mid-length and long poses will be studied.

A life model will be provided for the duration of the course.
