About this course

An intensive one-day course that introduces the wonderful possibilities of monotype printing using Chine collé and transfers, as well as inking techniques. You will be encouraged to let process and experimentation lead over finished product.

Course Description

An ideal course for students wanting to push the possibilities of making monoprints with a combination of techniques and processes. You will be taught how to mix and apply inks using rollers and brushes on acrylic plates and, at the same time, how to introduce colour with a variety of thin coloured papers. Photocopy as well as collage from magazines and newspapers will be tested for transfer on paper for prints. Introduction of textures with botanical leaves and flowers will be demonstrated.

On this course, you will have learned many techniques for the making of monoprints, but also gained confidence in transferring the techniques to other printmaking methods, such as relief and intaglio.

This is part of a series of four monotype printing courses that can be taken as a group or individually.
