Interior Designer
What was your background before KLC?
I previously worked as a course translator in the creative industry in Beijing, including floral design, visual merchandising, and interior styling before KLC. I started to have a passion for design when I worked as a translator.
Why did you decide to study Interior Design?
In 2017, I led a design study tour of Chinese interior designers in the US. We visited High Point Market, Biltmore Estate, New York Design Centre, Luxurious Townhouses in Manhattan and Brooklyn, etc. I was really inspired by all the beautiful interiors and got the opportunity to see all the different interior styles. After the study tour, I wanted to be creative.
I had a business trip to the UK after the study tour to the US. I was fascinated by how lively and creative it was in London, so after two trips, I decided to study interior design at the KLC School of Design.
What did you think of the course?
I really enjoyed my time studying at KLC, though it was a hardworking process. I studied for a year of a Diploma first, and then I wanted to achieve a bachelor’s degree. During my two-year study, I am ready to start my passion in the interior design industry. The whole study journey from research to design to implementation really trained me to be a professional interior designer, and our tutors guided us to have the confidence to present our designs.
What are your plans for the future?
I hope I can use my strength to realise my dream of becoming an interior designer and start to do live projects.
