Interior Designer
What was your background before KLC?
I Studied Commerce and Public Relations in China, and also hold a diploma in Fashion Design. I have worked for a six sigma system consulting company in Beijing, a fashion studio and my latest employment was working in the sales and marketing department of a Turkish stone company which supplied materiorals predominantly to high end hotel projects across Asia.
Why did you decide to study Interior Design?
During my work for the stone company, I was involved in many projects which were led by high end design firms. I was intrigued with how they injected soul and character into a space as well as take into account the commercial opportunities that the projects had to create.
What are you inspired by?
I am often inspired by art, movies, music, poems, stage performances and science.
What did you think of the course?
The course works very well to supply the students with a package of knowledge of interior design, It has provided me with key tools to work professionally in the industry.
What are your design interests / strengths?
I am more intrested in projects where I can fully explore the space conceptually and creatively. I excelled at creating fluid decorative schemes as well as developing appropriate colour schemes to the spaces.
What is your favourite interior?
I don't have a favourite, but I find experiencing new designs stimulating and exciting, I am particularly inspired by the initial development i.e. the concept or story behind the design and how this has been trsnalated through the use of materials and colour.
