Interior Designer
What were you doing before KLC and why did you decide to study at the school?
I graduated in Advertising and Public Relations in Spain. I finally decided to change career when I arrived in London. I decided to study at KLC after visiting the school. The location, right in the Design Centre also makes it ideal.
Can you identify some of the highlights and challenges of your time at KLC?
The challenge for me was that I wasn’t fluent in English, so I was learning new subjects but also a new language. I was also working at the same time, so the little time I has was to work on the projects.
How has your career evolved since graduating? Tell us about your professional experiences and employment?
After I left, I went to work for Ralph Lauren Home. Afterwards, I found an internship at Martin Brudnizki for four months. I went to do another internship, at Cochrane Design and stayed for two years, when a vacancy was made available. Then, a full-time position was available at Martin Brudnizki and I ended up working there for almost six years. I had a few personal enquiries and decided to start my firm, as well, because I was going to make some changes in my personal life.
What kind of projects have you been working on recently?
I am working on a residential property in South Kensington, residential office space and a restaurant in High Street Kensington and a new build villa in India.
Do you have a favourite project you can share with us?
I am really enjoying the villa project in India and the restaurant in London, my first commercial design.
What advice would you give anyone starting out in the industry?
Be passionate and willing to do anything.
