This course is one of a new series of four one-day courses led by Tom Brown, Head Gardener at West Dean Gardens. It aims to take a seasonal look at some of the key aspects of what is growing and happening over this coming year at West Dean Gardens.

Tickets are now available to buy for a recital at 8pm on Saturday 1 February with Haydn Piano Trio in Bb major, Hob XV:20, Haydn Piano Trio in C minor, Hob XV:13 and Beethoven Piano Trio in Eb major, Op.1, No.1.

Learn how to renovate neglected and overgrown orchard trees. The main focus will be apples and pears, with some time spent looking at plums and cherries. The day will include demonstrations in West Dean Gardens orchard.

This course offers a comprehensive overview of soil and how, with good compost, you can really improve your garden.

Enjoy an exclusive tour of the famous West Dean Gardens with two senior and knowledgeable members of the Garden Team, followed by a delicious cream tea in the prestigious Oak Hall.

Join us live, ahead of the funding deadline, for an online Q&A session via Zoom to answer any funding queries you have concerning your application.

Benjamin Pope will illustrate the importance of winter interest and structure in the garden, demonstrating how careful maintenance helps the development of your garden. This day includes a practical workshop in weaving a natural plant support.

A presentation on propagation throughout the year based on Hannah's work at Marchants Garden and Nursery will be followed by a hands-on workshop looking at how to divide plants, take different kinds of cuttings and how to sow seed.
