Between the 24th and 26th of January 2015, current West Dean College MFA student, Sarka Darton, will be taking part in ARTROOMS 2015, an inaugural International Art Fair taking place across the entire first floor of the Meliá White House Hotel in London's Regent's Park. Along with other independent international artists, Sarka has been invited to exhibit her work within one of 76 luxury hotel rooms during the same week as London Art Fair. As part of the installation, Sarka has been collaborating with textile artist and designer Kim Tattersall on a site-specific interior design that will completely transform the hotel suite to reflect the artist's interest in the nature of identity, ambiguity and displacement.
All artworks within ARTROOMS 2015 have been selected by a Committee whose members include Roberta Cremoncini, Director at the Estorick Collection, Ian Rosenfeld, Curator at Rosenfeld Porcini Gallery and Arturo Galansino, Exhibition Curator at the Royal Academy of Arts. Sarka Darton is an award-winning artist who has exhibited extensively in the UK and abroad. Her work, which incorporates painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, installation and interior/fashion design, is held in private collections in Europe, Asia and USA.
